Bollywood's new crypto love affair – celebrities go on the NFT bandwagon

NFTs can be used to own all types of art, tweets, music, GIFs, and other digital goods. Bollywood celebs are joining the trend too, not simply collectors or investors.

Amitabh Bachan's NFT launched by Beyondlife.club includes autographed antique posters, a recital of Madhushala, and other mementos of his celebrity . Recently ,sold for over Rs 7.18 crore.

Salman Khan recently announced plans to launch an NFT series on Bollycoin, an NFT marketplace with an exclusive focus on Bollywood. “Aa raha hoon main, NFTs leke.- he tweeted.

Manish Malhotra's first fashion-themed NFT series of 5 digital sketches were sold live on the WazirX NFT marketplace. His top grosser sketch was sold for roughly Rs 2.8 lakh

Sunny Leone was the first Bollywood actress to roll out her NFTs in early November. She launched a collection of 9,600 NFTs under the title “Misfitz”.

Kamal Haasan also revealed that he is diving into NFT and the metaverse. NFT platform Fantico has done a contract with him to launch his NFTS and game-based Metaverse avatar. 

Rajinikanth-starrer Sivaji the Boss is expected to be launched soon in NFTs. Diginoor.io signed a contract with AVM Studios to launch movie collectibles from the 2007 Tamil action thriller. 

Sonu Nigam partnered with digital entertainment and technology company, JetSynthesys to launch India's first music NFT.

Musician Ritviz has sold multiple NFTs; one in collaboration with Shantanu Hazarika, and another one with Nucleya. 

A.R. Rahman is also looking forward to release the source track of "Phir Se Ud Chala" from Rockstar  as an NFT. The proceeds will benefit the Indian music community .
