PE/VC funding in India touched $1.9Bn in Q1 of 2010, as per Deloitte consulting report.
The total funding of $1.9 billion in the first three months of 2010 came from 88 transactions with an average deal size of $22.1 million.
In Q1 of 2009, $4.4Bn of funding happened, spread across 299 deals (source) so 2010 is quite lower than 2009, but situation has improved if you compare with Q3 of 2009.
VC/PE’s favourite sectors include cleantech, education, healthcare and infrastructure.
