Between October and November, Mastodon’s user base exploded, going from roughly 300,000 monthly active users to 2.5 million.
Many people are using Mastodon as an alternative to Twitter because it is a decentralised social media network. Mastodon saw a large increase in users almost immediately after Elon Musk formally took over Twitter in late October.
