Foxconn’s Tamil Nadu plant is building employee hostels to accommodate up to 60,000 workers

Construction on the 20-acre site, which will have room for 60,000 workers, is progressing quickly. In response to the significant domestic demand for iPhones, Foxconn plans to increase local manufacturing.

Foxconn had already consented to use at least 75% of the space in a 20,000-bed dormitory being built by Tamil Nadu State Industries Promotion Corp at an industrial cluster in the same district.
